Ojai double-header to unite Maori, Celtic performers Performances To Grow On will present a world music double-header at 7:30 p.m. Sat., Nov. 3 at the Matilija Auditorium, 703 El Paseo Road in Ojai. The performance will include Kahurangi, the Maori Dance Theatre of New Zealand, and Celtic Spring, which presents Irish music and dance. Kahurangi features chants, martial arts techniques, songs and traditional Maori dances, some dating back to the early 10th century. Celtic Spring from the Ojai Valley is a fiddle and dance band comprised of the six Wood family siblings on fiddles and in dance shoes, joined by their father on the traditional Irish drum, the bodhran, and their mother on the piano.
