All things alpacas

Alpacas at Windy Hill, an alpaca ranch in Somis, will host an open house barn party from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sat. and Sun., Nov. 17 and 18 at the ranch, 7660 Bradley Road.

The open house will showcase alpacas and offer a variety of alpaca-related workshops and presentations, including a spinning demonstration.

Speakers will discuss various subjects, including business and veterinary care, as they relate to alpacas. Spinners and knitters will demonstrate how the animals' hypo-allergenic fleece is used to create garments and accessories, some of which will be on display and on sale.
