Golf tourney will help make kids wishes come true

The Ventura County Professional Firefighters' Association will host a golf tournament at 8 a.m. Fri., Nov. 2 at the River Ridge Golf Club, 2401 W. Vineyard Ave., Oxnard.

The tournament precedes the 16th annual Firefighters' Charity Ball, which will be Sat., Nov. 3 at the Residence Inn by Marriott, 2101 W. Vineyard Ave., Oxnard.

Proceeds from the ball and the tournament will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Tri-Counties.

Golfers participating in the tournament will have the opportunity to win prizes, including a car or watercraft for a holeinone.The charity ball will include raffles, a silent auction and entertainment by DJ Bruce Barrios.
