Children, adults invited to take classes

The Santa Barbara Country Dance Society will present a Country Dance of the English variety from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sun., Oct. 21 at the Gold Coast Fencing Center, 2300 Knoll Drive, No. L in Ventura.

"We'll learn simple patterns from centuries past to gorgeous Baroque and Renaissance tunes. The movement, the music and your fellow dancers will carry you to a simpler time," said Gary Shapiro, the Santa Barbara-based dance leader who will teach the dances.

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for students to age 24 and $1 for children ages 7 to 11.
