Three suspected burglars arrested

Three Santa Paula men were arrested in the early morning hours of Oct. 5 on multiple felony burglary charges in the 1600 block of Avenida De Aprisa, police said.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department, deputies were called to the scene when the homeowner reportedly saw two of the men in the backyard of the Camarillo home around 2:30 a.m.

Police said a deputy arrived at the home and saw three men with flashlights and gloves get into a nearby car. The men reportedly drove away with their lights off before deputies stopped them.

Police reportedly found property in the car that was linked to an earlier home burglary in the 600 block of Crestview Avenue.

The three men, Michael Cantero, 23, Juan Castillo, 27, and Rudy Cervantes, 21, were all arrested on charges of burglary, attempted burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.

The homeowner was able to identify Castillo and Cantero, police said.

All three men are being held in the Main Jail and are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 19.
