ZPower recognized for going green

Camarillo-based ZPower Inc., which produces rechargeable silver-zinc battery technology, has been named to the AlwaysOn "Going Green 100 Top Private Companies" list in the energy storage category for 2007.

"Our goal has always been to create a product that provides safe and efficient power while recognizing our responsibility to the environment," said President Ross Dueber.

The silver-zinc batteries the company produces can be recycled and reused, with the recovered raw materials of the same quality as the materials used in creating the battery, a company spokesperson said.
