Camarillo man stabbed in fight

Shortly after midnight Tues., Sept. 30, Christian Duran, a 22year-old Camarillo man, was stabbed multiple times during a fight in the 2500 block of Dumetz Street, according to police.

Sheriff deputies responded to calls from neighbors, who reported a fight and gunshots fired in the early morning hour, said Capt. Jerry Hernandez with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department in a written statement.

Police reported finding spent bullet casings and blood in the street, but were unable to locate any suspects upon arrival.

Witnesses reported the possible gunman, who allegedly shot at Duran's car as he fled the scene, as a Hispanic male, wearing gray shorts and gray shirt, according to authorities. Police said the gunman was one of four Hispanic males who witnesses said drove from the scene in a late model SUV.

The other three suspects were described as wearing white Tshirts and black pants. All four males had shaved heads.

According to police, detectives later found Duran, at St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital, where he was treated for stab wounds to the upper body and head. The injuries were not life-threatening, police said. Hernandez said Duran has since been released from the hospital and is recovering.

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the four suspects. To report information about this crime, call the Ventura County Sheriff 's Department at (805) 654-9511.
