'Little Mermaid' adaptation presented by Conejo Players

Conejo Players Theatre will present "Once on this Island Jr." weekends from Oct. 6 to Oct. 14. Showtimes are at 1 and 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, with one Friday performance at 7 p.m. Oct. 12. The theater is at 351 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

A Caribbean adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid," the musical was written by Lynn Ahrens with music by Stephen Flaherty. The story tells of a young peasant girl, Ti Moune, who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a young man from a wealthy family. When Daniel is returned to his people, Ti Moune is sent on a quest to test the strength of her love.
