Painter Ray to curate SCIART West exhibit

Roxie Ray, painter and cofounder of Studio Channel Islands Art Center, will curate the third art exhibition at SCIART West.

"Fire and Fire" is a twoperson show featuring ceramic sculptures by Kathleen C. Waggoner and encaustic paintings by Karen L. Brown.

The show will run from Wed., Oct. 10 to Sat., Nov. 24 at 519 S. "C" St., Oxnard. An opening reception will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 18.

Waggoner is a resident of Moorpark and has exhibited her artwork in the Ventura County area for 20 years.

Brown lives in Ventura and has displayed her work for more than 10 years.
