Doctor to discuss war's effects on Iraqis

The Democratic Club of Camarillo will meet at 7 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 4 at the UFCW Hall, 816 Camarillo Springs Road.

Special guest Donald S. Broder, MD, will make a presentation on the health effects of the war on the Iraqi people.

Broder is a retired psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who served two years in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps during the Vietnam War.

He helped organize a discussion forum in medical school on a proposal to provide retirees with medical care. This proposal became known as Medicare when it was adopted by Congress.
