Newcomers Club says 'come see kimonos'

The Camarillo Newcomers Club will meet at 11 a.m. Thurs., Oct. 18 at the Spanish Hills Country Club, 999 Crestview Ave., Camarillo. Lunch will be served at noon.

John McMullen, minister of visitation at the Camarillo United Methodist Church, will show some of his Japanese kimonos. He owns more than 2,000 kimonos and has provided them for several movies, such as "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "The Last Samurai."

Cost for lunch is $20 per member and $22 per guest. The reservation deadline is Sat., Oct. 13.
