The city of Oxnard has joined the board of directors of the Economic Development CollaborativeVentura County. With the addition of Oxnard, the EDC-VC board includes representation from every city in Ventura County. City of Oxnard councilmember Andres Herrera is the city's representative to the EDC-VC board; Dean Maulhardt is the alternate.

"As the largest city in the county, Oxnard has a great deal of economic impact on the county's vitality," said Michele Pettes, EDC-VC president/CEO. "We are so pleased to have the city on the board and look forward to working together to strengthen the work of EDC-VC and the business services offered to the Oxnard community."

Herrera has been a member of the Oxnard City Council since 2002 and previously served on the council from 1992-96. He was Mayor Pro Tem from 2004-06. An Oxnard native, Herrera is active on several boards, commissions and committees as a representative for the city.
