Parenting class offered

A class, "Parent Project," will be presented by the Camarillo Police Department from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 3 through Dec. 5 in the department's community room, 3701 Las Posas Road, Camarillo.

The $22 charge covers the cost of the workbook. The class is for parents only. Child care is not provided.

The class, taught by a police officer and a high school teacher, offers practical, nononsense solutions to issues parents face. The curriculum helps parents identify problems, create a plan and motivate their children to change destructive behaviors, including poor school performance, drug use, running away, suicide, violent or aggressive behavior, sex and gangs.
