Retrospective to fill three galleries
Tom McMillin exhibit- 1958-2007- starts Sept. 23

Studio Channel Islands will present a Tom McMillin Retrospective: 19582007 and Mentor-to-Many exhibition from Sept. 23 through Nov. 3 at the gallery on the campus of Cal State Channel Islands.

The opening reception will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sun., Sept. 23. Parking is free.

Gallery hours are noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday or by appointment.

In 2006 McMillin was the first artist in residence at the Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts in Ojai. He taught art for 30 years at Cal State Northridge where he served as the acting chair of the art department. He is now an adjunct professor of art at CSUCI.

The retrospective will be presented in the J. Handel Evans Gallery. McMillin's "Climatic Extremes," an installation dealing with a controlled environment, will be set up in the Gerd Koch Gallery. The O'Keefe Gallery will present an exhibition of artwork by some of McMillin's former students.
