Day of Remembrance honors memory of slain children
Parents plan Tuesday event

The Ventura County Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children Inc. will host a National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tues., Sept. 25 at Plaza Park between "B" and Fifth streets in Oxnard.

The event is intended to "honor the memories of murder victims and to recognize their impact on surviving family members and loved ones," according to a spokesperson for the organization.

The observance will also serve to educate the community about the rights and services available to surviving family members of homicide victims.
