A suspected shoplifter was arrested Aug. 23 for allegedly trying to steal merchandise from Pleasant Valley Flowers, 3030 Dodge Road.

A 19-year-old male was arrested Aug. 26 near the corner of Camino Deville and Balboa Circle on charges of vandalism.

An 18-year-old female employee of the Van Heusen clothing store, 740 Ventura Blvd., was arrested Aug. 28 on charges of grand theft by embezzlement for allegedly stealing nearly $1,900 in cash and $500 in clothing from the store.

A sign was stolen from a home in the 600 block of Highland Drive on Aug. 28 or 29.

Two men, ages 20 and 25, were arrested Aug. 29 in the 3700 block of Acala Street for allegedly stealing a car.

A vandal caused about $20 in damage to the exterior of the Camarillo Library, 4101 Las Posas Road, between Aug. 29 and 30.

A 26-year-old man was arrested Aug. 30 in the 1100 block of Palmer Avenue for taking the phone away from his 51-year-old mother while she was reporting a crime to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department's dispatch center.

A 42-year-old man was arrested Aug. 31 on the 118 Highway near Donlon Road in Somis for two outof-county warrants stemming from previous driving violations.

Between Aug. 27 and 30, police reported arresting eight people for driving without a license or driving with a suspended license. During that same time period, three people were arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and three were arrested on various drug charges.
