TV program showcases talents of local writers
Readers Theater tapes readings of original plays and screenplays for broadcast throughout the county

Readers Theater Television began its sixth season Aug. 30 on Time Warner Cable with "Noir," written by Ray Malus of Woodland Hills.

The reading featured Tim Gallagher of Oak Park, Tim Holtwick and Srinivas Kanury of Simi Valley, Bridgette Lindgren and Matt McGee of Thousand Oaks, Michael Aronovitz and Regina Mocey of Agoura Hills and Paul D. Roberts of Los Angeles.

Readers Theater Television produces tapings of staged readings of original plays and screenplays for broadcast on Time Warner Cable and public access Channel 25.

The programs are available to viewers in Agoura Hills, Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Newbury Park, Ojai, Oak Park, Santa Paula, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village.

The project is coproduced by Gallagher and Mocey.

Readers Theater Television welcomes submissions of new work for consideration. Volunteer actors and videographers are also invited to participate in the group's projects.

"Noir" by Malus will be shown on Readers Theater Television through September, October and November.

"Noir" will have its live theatrical debut at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church, 7136 Winnetka Ave., Canoga Park.
