Zinc Matrix becomes ZPower

Zinc Matrix Power, a global provider and developer of advanced silver-zinc rechargeable battery technology, has announced that the company name is now ZPower Inc.

Under the new name, the company will continue to develop its product. Batteries for notebook computers, cellphones and MP3 players will be demonstrated at the 2007 Fall Intel Developer Forum from Sept. 18 through 20 in San Francisco. ZPower has also been invited to participate in the extended battery life speaker's panel at the conference.

The company also announced the launch of its new website, www.zpowerbattery.com.

Under its new name, the company will continue to operate from its new headquarters and pilot production facility, which opened earlier this spring.

ZPower is carrying out early manufacturing runs, pilot scale production and process development in its Camarillo facility. Volume production will be launched in China in 2008 through the contract manufacturing partner, Tyco Electronics Corp.
