Workshop offered on financial aid for college

A free workshop on college financial aid will be presented from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. Tues., Aug. 28 at E.P. Foster Library, 651 E. Main St., Ventura, and Wed., Aug. 29 at the Ventura County Star Building, 550 Camarillo Center Drive, Camarillo.

Topics presented will cover scholarships, grants, merit-based and need-based aid, improving eligibility, myths and fallacies about the process, scholarship mistakes and how to avoid them, college savings plans, as well as tips about financial aid officers and college planners and advisers.
