Fest organizers say event was a success despite low ticket sales

      The foggy night air on Friday did little to chill the spirits of concertgoers who turned out for the opening night concert of the second annual Camarillo Art and Jazz Festival that saturated the city in artwork and live music during the three-day event.

Camelot legend inspires sermon
      Camarillo United Methodist Church will present "Camelot" at the 9 and 10:30 a.m. services Sun., Aug. 26 at 291 Anacapa Drive. Scripture and music will be used to present the sermon via the legend of King Arthur. The services are open to the public.

Art center presents exhibits
      •The Florence Gillman show of "Four Arts" will be exhibiting through Sun., Sept. 9 at the Camarillo Art Center, 3150 Ponderosa Drive, Camarillo. The four arts are crocheting, painting, photography and pottery. The exhibit is free, and the artist will be in attendance every weekend.

Gin Blossoms to rock park
      The soft rock group Gin Blossoms will perform a free concert in the park at 7:30 p.m. Sat., Aug. 18 in Constitution Park at Carmen Drive and Paseo Camarillo. There will be a youth preshow at 6:45 p.m. For more information, call (805) 987-7847.
