Sheriff's Blotter Camarillo Someone broke into a locked storage facility at a business in the 300 block of S. Dawson Drive sometime between July 18 and 28. A 42-year-old man was arrested July 18 in the 2600 block of Barry Street for allegedly threatening another man with a knife during a verbal argument earlier that day. Vandals broke into Rancho Rosal Elementary School, 3535 Village at the Park Drive, sometime between July 20 and 23. An undisclosed amount of property was stolen. Vandals caused less than $400 in damage to Tierra Linda Elementary School, 1201 Woodcreek Road, sometime between July 20 and 23. Vandals used a rock to scratch the paint of a car parked in the 1500 block of Iroquois Court between July 21 and 29. Vandals used spray paint to damage a wall in the 100 block of S. Dawson Drive on July 22 or 23. A van parked in the 900 block of Camarillo Center Drive was burglarized July 23. A hand truck was stolen from Tuesday Morning store, 2450 Las Posas Road, on July 23. Vandals broke into Tierra Linda Elementary School, 1201 N. Woodcreek Road, between July 23 and 24. Two window screens were cut open and a screen frame was bent to allow entry into the classroom, according to the police report. The vandals caused about $75 in damages. Someone cut the locks off two large storage containers kept at Mariposa Horticultural Enterprises, 4790 Los Angeles Ave., and stole an undisclosed amount of property on July 23 or 24. Vandals spray painted the side of car parked in the 300 block of Carmen Drive sometime between July 23 and 24. Vandals broke into a classroom at Valle Lindo Elementary School, 777 Aileen St., and stole a laptop. The vandals caused $167 in damages and stole more than $1,400 in property between July 23 and 24. Vandals broke into Las Colinas Middle School, 5759 Fieldcrest St., on July 23 or 24. The suspects caused about $5,000 in damages. Vandals caused about $100 in damage to the wall of a business in the 200 block of Arneill Road sometime between July 23 and 24. Two male teens, 18 and 19, were cited July 24 near the intersection of Ponderosa Drive and Easton Street on probation violation charges. Police said the two teens each were carrying a Sharpie marker. A 19-year-old man was arrested July 25 when police responded to shots fired near the corner of Santa Rosa Road and San Rafael Way. Police said the man reportedly had an out-of-county warrant for his arrest. A 22-year-old man was arrested July 25 at a motel in the 1100 block of E. Ventura Boulevard for allegedly trying to stop a victim from calling the police. Police also charged the man with possession of deadly weapon. A 20-year-old man was arrested July 25 at the Camarillo Police Station, 3701 E. Las Posas Road, for multiple out-of-county warrants for his arrest. A 42-year-old man was arrested July 25 at the corner of Las Posas Road and Daily Drive for allegedly being in possession of stolen property and being under the influence of a controlled substance. A 32-year-old woman was arrested July 25 for allegedly battering her husband while the two worked in farm fields along Hueneme Road in Camarillo. A thief stole an undisclosed amount of property from an unlocked car parked in the 400 block of Appletree Avenue sometime between July 25 and 26. A 24-year-old man was arrested July 26 in the 1000 block of Temple Avenue on vandalism charges. A car parked in the 4600 block of Via Dulce was burglarized between July 26 and 27. A car parked in the 1700 block of Corte Monarca was burglarized on July 26 or 27. A thief stole more than $400 in property from an unlocked car parked in the 300 block of Avocado Place on July 27. A 54-year-old man was arrested July 27 at the Camarillo Police Station, 3701 E. Las Posas Road, for allegedly making criminal threats and reporting a false bomb. Someone broke into a business in the 900 block of Via Alondra on July 28 and stole five computers and seven monitors. Shoplifters stole an undisclosed amount of property from the Blockbuster Video store, 2291 Pickwick Drive, sometime between July 28 and 29. A thief tried to steal a car stereo from an unlocked car parked in the 2900 block of Avenida De Autlan between July 28 and 29. A thief stole less than $400 in property from an unlocked car parked in the 700 block of Sterling Hills Drive on July 28 or 29. Thieves broke into a storage shed of a business in the 4300 block of E. Pleasant Valley Road between July 28 and 30. Someone stole an undisclosed amount of property from an unlocked car parked in the 2900 block of Antonio Avenue on July 30. Between July 23 and 29, police reported arresting 13 people for driving without a license or driving with a suspended license. During that same time period, three people were arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, five were arrested on various drug charges and two were arrested for being drunk in public. |
