Pirates invade Ventura Harbor

Keep a weather eye out, mateys. Pirates will be after invadin' Ventura Harbor Village from 1 to 4 p.m. Sat. and Sun., July 14 and 15 on Spinnaker Drive in Ventura.

There be professional pirate action shows, pirate jugglers, a treasure hunt fer the wee ones and the strolling pirate band Unkle Monkey.

Other attractions will be Capt. Jack Sparrow and Capt. Hook lookalikes, a dressup photo booth, exotic birds, face paintin' and a Mariner's Maze.

Swashbucklers can enter the costume contest at 3:30 p.m. each day, the prize bein' tickets to Disneyland.

Pirate-y giveaways and vendors will offer those visitin' a chance t' be takin' home a pile o' swag.
