New West Symphony welcomes Tormé to stage

New West Symphony will debut a jazz concert featuring James Tormé performing newly orchestrated hits from his father, Mel Tormé, at 8 p.m. Fri., July 6 at the Kavli Theatre, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Highlights include David Paich, son of late jazz composer Marty Paich, conducting the Paich version of the California Suite recorded in 1957 by Mel Tormé.
