According to the Camarillo Police Department, Gavin Kurilchyk, 19, admitted to police on June 18 that he vandalized six different properties throughout Camarillo since June 2006. Vandals spray painted the wall of a church in the 1200 block of Paseo Camarillo between June 22 and 24. Someone stole metal irrigation pipes from a farm in the 2100 block of E. Pleasant Valley Road sometime between June 22 and 25. Between June 22 and 25, a home in the 20 block of Camino La Madera was burglarized. An undisclosed amount of property was stolen. A 24-year-old man was arrested June 23 at a restaurant in the 1300 block of Del Norte Road and charged with assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly used a knife to injure another man. A car parked in the 800 block of Yearling Court was burglarized June 23. A $2,000 computer and docking station was stolen off the desk of a worker at WellPoint, 5151 Camino Ruiz, sometime between June 23 and 25. Between June 23 and 25, someone broke into the storage shed of a church in the 1200 block of Paseo Camarillo. The thieves stole nearly $2,000 in property and caused $400 in damage. A shoplifter stole about $80 in merchandise from the Target store, 209 W. Ventura Blvd., on June 24. During a traffic stop along Highway 101 near Carmen Drive, police arrested a 20-year-old man on June 25 for allegedly concealing a large knife between the car's seat cushions. Shoplifters were arrested June 25 for allegedly trying to steal liquor from a liquor store in the 2200 block of Las Posas Road. A 27-year-old man was arrested June 25 and charged with assault on a 32-year-old man in the 2800 block of Waverly Avenue. A vandal used a brick to smash the windshield of a car parked in the 2900 block of Knight Rondo Court on June 25 or 26. A thief smashed the window of a car parked in the 3000 block of Etting Road and stole an electric seat massager sometime between June 25 and 26. A teenager was arrested June 26 and charged with using a 4-foot stick to batter a 36-year-old woman in the 500 block of Rosewood Avenue. A 19-year-old Oxnard man was arrested June 26 near the Highway 101 offramp at Las Posas Road for reportedly driving the wrong way onto the freeway and driving without a license. A purse was stolen from the desk of a reporter at the Ventura County Star newspaper, 550 Camarillo Center Drive, on June 26. The thief then used the woman's credit cards to make illegal purchases. Vandals threw eggs at a home in the 500 block of Paseo Lunar and caused $1,000 in damage on June 26 or 27. Someone stole and ate food taken from a school in the 2000 block of E. Ventura Boulevard sometime June 26 and 27. The suspect also caused $6 in damage to one of the doors. On June 26 or 27, vandals caused about $500 in damage to a business in the 3800 block of Calle Tecate. Vandals caused more than $400 in damage to a business in the 3700 block of Via Pescador sometime between June 26 and 27. A car parked in the 1700 block of Ventura Boulevard was burglarized between June 26 and 27. On June 27, a locker at a business in the 400 block of Carmen Drive was burglarized. A business on the 100 block of Wood Road was burglarized sometime between June 27 and 28. A shoplifter was arrested June 28 for allegedly trying to steal merchandise from the Target store, 209 W. Ventura Blvd. A 63-year-old man was arrested June 28 on suspicion of hitting a 57year-old man in the head with a full beer bottle at a residence in the 100 block of Anacapa Drive on June 28. Two men, ages 22 and 29, were arrested June 29 and charged with fighting with each other at a residence in the 900 block of Jay Avenue. A 44-year-old woman was arrested June 27 for allegedly being in possession of nearly 19 grams of cocaine during a warrant arrest in the 800 block of North Calle Circulo. In addition, a 39-year-old man was also arrested on multiple charges stemming from alleged drug possession. A 25-year-old man was arrested June 28 in the 400 block of Las Posas Road after he allegedly stole merchandise from a nearby store and then tried to run from police.
Between June 22 and June 29, police reported arresting 12 people for driving without a license or driving with a suspended license. During that same time period, two people were arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, two were arrested on various drug charges, and one was arrested for being drunk in public. |
