Sammy Deraney-Maerz

Prudential California Realty's broker/owner Bob Majorino and his management staff have welcomed veteran agent Sammy Deraney-Maerz to their Camarillo office.

Deraney-Maerz was born in Germany while her father was in the Air Force. After many moves, the family settled in Camarillo in 1965. Deraney-Maerz was raised in Camarillo and has always loved it.

After attending local Camarillo schools from elementary through high school, Deraney-Maerz went on to Moorpark College, where she took her AA in general education. Soon after, she met and married her German husband and moved to Germany. While there, Deraney-Maerz spent two and a half years in school studying real estate with the International Chamber of Commerce. In 2000, she was certified and began her career in real estate with her own successful agency. In 2006, DeraneyMaerz and her family moved back to Camarillo, and she is continuing the job that she loves in the town she's always been passionate about.

DeraneyMaerz's husband has a heating and plumbing business. The knowledge he has passed on to her helps her to know where to look to see if everything is okay with a house- a definite plus in a Realtor. Three of her five daughters are in universities, one is studying to be a beautician and one is in Officers Candidate School with the Pioneers in the Army.

DeraneyMaerz's interests include belly dancing (she was a pro in Germany), hiking, riding motorcycles, skiing, Yoga, building and baking- a craft she learned early in life. She especially loves to make big cakes.

Finally back home, Deraney-Maerz said, "In my opinion, Camarillo is one of the nicest cities in all of the United States and an ideal place to live. It has everything, including the best schools, many dining possibilities, every shopping option, very clean, close to L.A., Santa Barbara, the ocean and the mountains. What more could one possibly want?" She added, "My biggest and foremost purpose in life is to help and serve people with their most precious possession- their home."

She can be reached at (805) 233-0722.
