Winter Sojourn To Revivifying Spring

As winter subsides, the promise of spring has us looking forward to the warm, extended days ahead. Bright skies and open windows are at hand, as is the annual cleaning that is so appropriate at this time of year. As the natural world emerges from sleep, we become more alive again, and our homes want to come to life too.

Let's prioritize indoor maintenance jobs: 1. Replace filters on air conditioners 2. Replace cooler pads in the water (swamp) cooler 3. Clean refrigerator coils 4. Clean room/ceiling fans 5. Adjust or have the burners on the hot water heater re-adjusted If it seems like a lot to do all at once, start spacing the projects out over the next month. Then let's think about something a little more time consuming- like painting the bedroom, cleaning the garage or remodeling the kitchen or bath. Think of your house as a friend, or as an extension of yourself, who you would like to spend quality time with. Clean up, fix up, until you feel satisfied within the walls of your own clean and comfortable home. Don't forget the front yard- plant spring flowers to make it "welcoming" when you drive into the driveway.
