New mercantile store continues family tradition born in Ireland

Connie Milano has opened P.J. Milligan Mercantile at 64 Daily Drive in the Las Posas shopping center in Camarillo, carrying on a family business started 105 years ago by her great-grandfather, Patrick Milligan, in Sligo, Ireland.

P.J. Milligan and Co. was established in Santa Barbara more than 20 years ago by Milano's brother.

The company also has a manufacturing facility in Indonesia.

P.J. Milligan Mercantile showcases handcrafted, real wood furniture and samples of the company's kitchens.

P.J. Milligan Mercantile has a selection of lamps, frames, china tea sets, flower arrangements, art, handmade jewelry and candles.

The store is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday
