Put effort into ACTION on Saturday

ACTION Foundation, a community-based outreach group, will host its fourth annual countywide Service Day on Sat., June 2.

More than 75 local churches will work with 50 social service agencies and schools to help Ventura County citizens in need. ACTION will enlist volunteers on more than 150 projects.

ACTION, Area Christians Taking Initiative on Needs, was created by four area pastors with the goal of unifying local churches by addressing the needs of their communities.

On Saturday, volunteers will serve agencies such as the Lighthouse Emergency Shelter, YMCA, Casa Pacifica, Sarah's House, Children's Hunger Fund and FOOD Share.
