Housing authority to host free seminar

The Area Housing Authority of the county of Ventura will offer free educational classes on homeownership.

Upcoming seminars are 6 to 7 p.m. Tues., May 29 at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks, and 6 to 7 p.m. Tues., June 19 at the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, 2400 Ventura Blvd., Camarillo.

The free class will address the following topics: tax advantages of homeownership, programs available for financing for a first-time buyer, raising and maintaining a high FICO score. The seminars are educational only. There are no sales involved.

The Area Housing Authority serves Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and the unincorporated areas of Ventura County. To reserve a seat, call (800) 5490337, ext. 167. Reservations are recommended.
