University grads walk tomorrow, traffic expected

California State University at Channel Islands commencement will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Sat., May 19 on the South Quad of the campus.

This year's ceremony will include the students who were registered as the school's first freshman class in 2003. Commencement speakers will be two members of the inaugural freshman class, Jessica LaRoe and Tamara Gershater.

LaRoe is from Sacramento County and is graduating with a bachelor's degree in business with minors in psychology and economics. She plans to attend graduate school.

Gershater is a Camarillo resident graduating with a bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in education. She will attend graduate school at UC Davis in the fall.

Due to limited parking on the campus, attendees are encouraged to park off campus and use the free shuttle bus provided by VISTA. Bus stops will be at Camarillo Metrolink Station on Lewis Road, Oxnard Centerpoint Mall and Oxnard College.
