Middle school students at Los Senderos Open School will premiere CLAVE at the school's open house from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tues., May 22 at 1555 Kendall Ave., Camarillo.
Clave is a Latin word meaning "to strike." Benji Dobson of Camarillo is an artist who directs the students in learning rhythms from around the world with a variety of percussion instruments. The program includes hoops and poi ball dancing, giving students the opportunity to experience rhythmic movement.
Along with performances by the students the evening will include appearances by guest performers including Dos Congueros, Jennifer Merlich and the One World Drummers.
The community is invited to attend the free performance.
