Book signing at Ventura Farmers' Market

Patricia Hamilton, author of the guidebook "California Healthy," will sign her book at the Ventura Farmers' Market from 9 to 11 a.m. Sat., May 5.

Hamilton will also have free recipe cards and giveaways available at her table.

The market is in downtown Ventura on the corner of Santa Clara and Palm streets, and is open from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

"California Healthy" is a guide to foods, winetasting, and cultural and agricultural tourism, with recipes from Stanford executive chef Bruce Biron and walking tips from exercise physiologist Janel Willette.

According to Hamilton, her book is focused on good health and is designed to appeal to Americans concerned about their overall health.

In addition to the book signing, the market will host a minibirthday celebration commemorating its 21st anniversary. Birthday cake will be available to shoppers as they browse.
