Camarillo Acorn on vacation
THE LEX- Former Navy man David Sanchez and his wife, Nancy, pose with their hometown newspaper in front of the USS Lexington last month during David's reunion with the VF Fueling Division in Texas. Sanchez served on the aircraft carrier from 1960 to 1964. Thinking the Lexington was sunk during a World War II battle, the Japanese dubbed the aircraft carrier the "Grey Ghost" when it returned to the Pacific following extensive repairs. The ship is now a Naval museum and has been retired to the Corpus Christi Bay in Texas.
