Gypsies to open trunk at harbor Gypsies in a Trunk will perform a mix of fairy tales and classic children's stories at 2 p.m. the first Sunday of the month from May through September in Channel Islands Harbor at the north end of Harbor View Park. Shows are free, although donations are requested. On May 6, the "Wild West meets Never Never Land" as the performers retell "Peter Pan." The troupe will present "CSI-Mother Goose" June 3, in which nursery tale characters are interviewed by CSI agents in connection with the kidnapping of Mother Goose. Two witches trade lives in "Witch Switch," July 1. There will be audience participation in the Aug. 5 performance of "Snow White," when members of the audience play six of the seven dwarfs. Goldilocks is joined by Red Riding Hood when the gypsies present "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" Sept. 2. Gypsies in a Trunk is an allvolunteer professional cast performing for audiences in Ventura County. Attendees may bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks.
