Music festival to feature Diane Schuur The 13th Ventura Music Festival will be May 3 to 13, presenting performances by a variety of musicians at different venues in Ventura. Concert tickets are available from (805) 648-3146 or online at www.venturamusicfestival.org. The Festival Brass Quintet will perform at 3 p.m. Fri., May 4 and 11 at Nona's Courtyard Cafe, 67 S. California St. An Englishstyle high tea will be served. The Dorian Wind Quintet performs at 8 p.m. Fri., May 4 at the First United Methodist Church, 1338 E. Santa Clara St. Diane Schuur will present a jazz concert at 8 p.m. Sat., May 5 at Ventura Missionary Church, 500 High Point Drive. Pearl Django will perform at 2 p.m. Sun., May 6 at Olivas Adobe, 4200 Olivas Park Drive. Patrons may reserve a table and bring a picnic. Italian pianist Guiseppe Albanese performs at 7:30 p.m. Mon., May 7 at San Buenaventura Mission, 211 E. Main St. Mehta and Friends will present a concert of chamber music at 7:30 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church, 1555 Poli St. The Escher String Quartet, with Andrew Janss and Sean Chen, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thurs., May 10 at First United Methodist Church, 1385 E. Santa Clara St. Quartetto Gelato will perform at 8 p.m. Fri., May 11 at Community Presbyterian Church, 1555 Poli St. The Festival Orchestra will celebrate French composers in a concert at 8 p.m. Sat., May 12 at Ventura High School, 2155 E. Main St. Nuvi Mehta will conduct the orchestra and guest violinist Corey Cerovsek. Guitarist Ana Vidovic will perform at 11 a.m. Sun., May 13 at Temple Beth Torah, 7620 Foothill Road. |
