Tell us what makes your mom so special

Sure, some might call Mother's Day a "Hallmark" holiday- just another chance for card companies to make a quick buck.

But there's few who would argue that moms don't receive the recognition they deserve.

Dads, take no offense. You're great, too, but moms always seem to be there when we need them the most.

They're oftentimes the first one with a kiss to make a hurt knee feel better, a quiet lullaby to ward off a bad dream or a favorite dish to satiate a hungry tummy.

Mother's Day is May 13 and the Camarillo Acorn wants your mom to receive the recognition she deserves.

In 100 words or less, please write and tell us why your mother is special. Whether it's a poignant memory that you have, a small story you'd like to tell or just a few kind words for mom, your thoughts are important. But remember, no more than 100 words, please.
