      Local participating BaskinRobbins stores will offer a special 31 Cent Scoop Night celebration from 5 to 10 p.m. Wed., May 2. At that time, customers can choose any flavor and pay 31 cents plus tax for a 2.5-ounce scoop of ice cream.

Chorus strikes a winning chord
      Channelaire Chorus earned first-place gold medals at the Sweet Adeline regional competition recently in Bakersfield. This win, their fourth since 2001, allows the chorus to represent the region at an international competition scheduled for Honolulu, Hawaii in 2008.
