School district decides to hold off on restructuring plan

In a surprise decision that may reverse the Pleasant Valley School District's controversial restructuring plan, the school board voted last night to re-evaluate its earlier vote to reconfigure Santa Rosa Technology Magnet and Rancho Rosal schools and to move the Los Primeros Structured School to another campus.

The board also said they will continue to pursue discussions with Camarillo city officials to explore alternative funding sources.

The board decided to wait for trustee Patty Lerner to return before any changes are made in the district.

Regardless of any changes, the board said it will still close Los Altos Middle School next fall.

District officials said they do not know when they will begin reevaluating their earlier plans.
