Thank you, Camarillo, for a wonderful first year

On April 7, the Camarillo Acorn staff proudly celebrated the newspaper's one-year anniversary- a feat that would have never been possible without the strong support of our readers and the many local businesses that help make us Camarillo's hometown newspaper.

This past year has been one of continuous growth- both for our staff and on our pages. As Camarillo's weekly community newspaper, we've chronicled the opening of a magnificent new library, reported the local news that impacts residents and made it a point to focus on our readers' own colorful tapestry of personal stories and accomplishments.

In return, Camarillo has welcomed us with open arms.

Readers have taken their hometown newspaper on vacation to such exotic locations as the cliffs of the Andes Mountains, the streets of Paris and the beaches of Gibraltar. With summer approaching, it's a great time to get in those "Acorn on vacation" photos. We want to see your picture in print.

Paper is the traditional gift for a one-year anniversary. It's a gift the Camarillo Acorn has taken to heart. With a recent circulation boost of 1,000 copies, we've added free home delivery to residents of the Village at the Park housing development.

As we have always done- and will continue to do- we invite readers to share with us their accomplishments, news stories, photographs, concerns, questions and critiques. We invite readers to stop by our offices, 1203 Flynn Road, Ste. 140, and come in to chat.

We are Camarillo's hometown newspaper, and, like you, we work here, live here and have come to marvel at all the wonderful people who make this city so special.

Here's to many, many more years. We look forward to sharing our golden anniversary right here in Camarillo.
