Redefining theory Pohoski affirms that the Bible claims that the earth is "flat." Could any proof be supplied for the accuracy of that statement? In Isaiah 40:22, written nearly 3 millenniums ago, it's written that the Earth is circular. The Hebrew word chugh, translated as "circle," may also be rendered "sphere." Other Biblical translations read, "The globe of the earth" (Douay Version) and "the round earth." Pohoski also enlists the use of the term "theory" to describe gravity. Has not gravity been proven by the scientific method of repeatable experimentation with repeatable results? How about the scientific proof for evolution, such as fossil records? Where do we find the fossils that demonstrate transitional phases? Shouldn't they be far more numerous than the "finished product?" If man evolved from monkeys, why do we still have monkeys? In 2004, National Geographic described the fossil record as being like "a film of evolution from which 999 of every 1,000 frames have been lost on the cuttingroom floor." What does the fossil record actually show? Niles Eldredge, a staunch evolutionist, admits that the record shows that for long periods of time, "little or no evolutionary change accumulates in most species." Joe Cascio Camarillo |
