Diabetes doesn't ground dreams

Pilot Michael Hunter will present a free, 90minute program to children affected by diabetes and their parents from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Sat., March 31 at the NAS Point Mugu Station Theater.

Hunter is scheduled to perform in the air show at the base following his presentation.

Sponsored by Flight for Diabetes Inc., a nonprofit foundation formed to increase public awareness and education programs for children with diabetes, the program will help children "realize that they do not have to be halted by the disease and can achieve their dreams," according to a Flight for Diabetes spokesperson.

Families attending the program will also receive local diabetes resource and program information, educational handouts and activities, and signed posters.

For more information or to RSVP, call (877) 422-6494 or visit www.flightfordiabetes.com.
