Attend free film screening in Ventura Ventura County AIDS Partnership will host a onenight screening of the film "Three Needles" at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., March 29 at the Regency Buenaventura 6 Theatre, 1440 Eastman Ave., Ventura. The film examines the lives of people struggling with the AIDS pandemic in Africa, Asia and North America. The film begins in China where a blackmarket blood collection scheme causes an outbreak in a rural village. In Montreal, a porn actor hides his HIV status, and in Africa a nun makes a sacrifice to protect the health of plantation workers. The film stars Lucy Liu, Chloe Sevigny, Shawn Ashmore, Sandra Oh, Stockard Channing and Olympia Dukakis. Tickets are available online at www.vcunitedway.org or by calling (805) 485-6288, ext. 221. Tickets are $20 each and will be mailed. The Wolf Pictures film was directed and written by Thom Fitzgerald. There is no MPAA rating although there is brief nudity. Running time is 127 minutes.
