Police seek gunmen in two separate crimes Police are still searching for a man who robbed a Shell gas station at gunpoint around 11:45 p.m. on Thurs., March 15. No one was hurt in the late night robbery. According to Camarillo Police Department officials, the gunman entered the gas station on the 1600 block of Ventura Boulevard, approached the checkout counter, brandished a handgun and ordered the store clerk to empty the cash register. Police said the man fled on foot with a few hundred dollars in cash. The suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall, 150-pound white male in his mid-20s. Witnesses said the man wore white facial make up and dyed his goatee black in an attempt to disguise himself. A few hours earlier, a man armed with a shotgun attempted to rob the McDonald's restaurant on the 60 block of Daily Drive . Police said the suspect knocked on the restaurant's locked drivethru window around 9:50 p.m. to attract the attention of one the employees inside the restaurant. A McDonald's employee looked out the window to find the suspect standing outside and holding a shotgun. The McDonald's employee ran from the window and called police. The robber fled without any money and was reportedly seen driving away in a light-colored, four-door, late-model sedan. The attempted robbery suspect was described as a 5-foot-4-inch Hispanic male wearing dark clothes. The suspect wore a black bandana over his mouth and nose as a disguise. Police are asking for anyone with information regarding either of the crimes to call the Ventura County Sheriff's Department's Major Crime Unit at (805) 4777000 or Ventura County Crime Stoppers at (805) 987TALK. Police will pay up to $1,000 for leads that result in an arrest. Calls can be made anonymously. |
