Wants to keep Los Primeros open

I am appalled by the board's consideration of the possibility of closing Los Primeros Structured School. When it was time to enroll my daughter in kindergarten, I investigated all the available schools and liked LPSS the best.

I like the fact that it is a structured school. However, LPSS doesn't just emphasize the three Rs; they also expose the students to the arts.

My daughter has flourished in this environment. She is in the second grade now. Every year, starting in kindergarten, her class has performed a play in the very nice auditorium.

There is a long waiting list of students wanting to enroll in LPSS. We have consistently ranked in the top two in the district on the STAR tests. All classes are operating at full capacity. I can't believe the district would even consider closing a school that has proven to be this kind of a winner.

If LPSS closes I will take a serious look outside the public school system for my child's education. Lynda Ledin Camarillo
