Deputy involved in pillow fight

A man was arrested March 11 after a woman was repeatedly slapped in the 2000 block of North Lathan Avenue. A deputy with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department arrived at about 10:40 p.m., nearly an hour after the alleged slapping started, and the man assaulted the peace officer with a pillow.

Three walls and a fence have been vandalized so far during this reporting period; the fence at a house in the 1700 block of East Regent Street will cost less than $400 to repair, while another $400 in damage was caused March 2 to a wall on the corner of Arneill and Las Posas roads. Green spray paint was used March 7 to do $150 in damage to a wall at a housing development in the 500 block of Durango Court.

A medical building in the 200 block of Mobil Avenue is missing a number of letters that a thief pryed off its front wall March 6 or 7.

Someone rummaged through an unlocked vehicle left parked in the 5300 block of Meadowbluff Court overnight March 7, but nothing was reported stolen.

And March 9, suspected shoplifters were arrested as they allegedly tried to remove a shopping cart full of liquor from Vons supermarket, 5275 Mission Oaks Blvd.
