Rap sheet wrap-up

Possibly wearing out his welcome at family gatherings, Daniel Thomas Templin, 28, was arrested after turning himself in to police for allegedly stealing his sister-in-law's engagement ring off a nightstand in her home. Templin was a guest Feb. 25 at the house in the 400 block of Vista Del Sol. According to police, he sold the $2,400 ring to a local pawnshop.

Forgers wrote nearly $10,000 in checks to themselves, cashing them at the Wells Fargo Bank, 5275 Mission Oaks Blvd., between Feb. 16 and Feb. 22. The checks had been stolen from a Camarillo businessman.

A trusting shopper set a purse down on the floor Feb. 25 while browsing at the Coach handbag store, 900 Camarillo Center Drive. A sharp-eyed thief snatched the bag and made off with it.

Three people were detained Feb. 25 on suspicion of trying to steal liquor, an obvious choice, from the Liquor Shop, 2255 Las Posas Road.

Sometime March 1 or 2, vandals "egged" a car parked in the 5300 block of Willowview Drive, damaging the vehicle. Around 10:30 the following Saturday night, eggs were thrown at a home in the 2500 block of Leafwood Drive.

Cosmetics worth an estimated $165 were evidently considered essential by the person who used a fraudulent credit card to purchase the potions and lotions March 3 at Hair and Body Essentials, 81 E. Daily Drive.
