Doesn't like city's planters I am in total agreement with the dear folks over at Christians Acting Together regarding their Feb. 9 letter against the oversized planters the city has built in front of their store on Glenn Drive in Old Town. Even the planters on Ventura Boulevard have caused problems. They have taken so many parking spaces on the boulevard. On the side streets there is not a lot of parking to begin with, then our City Council again takes more parking spaces. It is like they have money to throw away. I live in Old Town and have since 1992. I am getting sick and tired of finding new routes to take while the city does its thing. They took one lane on each side of Ventura Boulevard and it is horrendous to try and get out of a parking spot, not to say anything about the traffic. The placement of the freeway entrance causes nothing but a traffic tie-up for Glenn Drive. Traffic from Arneill Road and from Ventura Boulevard to the freeway entrance is a disaster. The taking of the Fulton bridge was ridiculous. The City Council thinks nothing of the citizens of Camarillo in Old Town. I hope they are happy with themselves, as a lot of us certainly are not. I wonder why they did not have the city vote on all these projects? Could it be they know they wouldn't get to spend "their" ( so they think ) money? Linda Brommer Camarillo |
