Camarillo Optimists to host banquet for youth

The Camarillo Noontime Optimist Club will sponsor its 26th annual "Youth We Appreciate" banquet for 108 high school students at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., March 1 at the Camarillo Community Center, 1605 E. Burnley St.

These students will receive recognition for their excellence in scholarship, school and community service, leadership, most improved and fine arts. The Joel McCrea Award is given to one student from each high school.

The Camarillo High School Jazz Band will perform under the direction of John Stava.
