Neil Simon show takes main stage

The Ventura College Theatre Department will present "Rumors," a comedy by Neil Simon, on Fri., Sat. and Sun., Feb. 23, 24, 25, March 2, 3 and 4 at the college's Mainstage Theatre.

Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m., and Sunday matinees are at 3 p.m.

In the play, four couples are invited to celebrate the Brocks' 10th wedding anniversary. The first to arrive discover Charley Brock bleeding upstairs, with his wife nowhere to be found. While the first couple tries to invent a story to explain what happened, the second couple arrives, flustered by a fender bender they want to keep secret.

As the rest of the couples arrive, "the charade intensifies, the ridiculousness multiplies, the police arrive, and the real truth goes out the window- or does it?"

According to a theater spokesperson, "'Rumors' is a dynamic energetic romp."

Tickets will be available at the door for $7 general admission and $5 for students, staff and seniors.
