New library to open in March

As part of the preparation for the opening of the new library in Camarillo, the existing library will close Sun., Feb. 25, allowing library staff time to prepare for the opening at the new location.

During the temporary closure, library materials may be returned to the book drops at the current library, 3100 Ponderosa Drive, through March 31. Materials may also be returned to any library in the Ventura County Library system.

The new Camarillo Library will open on March 31 and will replace the existing facility, which was built in the 1970s. The new library building is designed to meet the community's current and future needs.

Construction of the new library at 4101 Las Posas Road was made possible by a grant from the California Library Bond Act, a local match from the city of Camarillo, grant funds, a donation from the Friends of the Camarillo Library and community support.
